So this week I sat in on Six Feet to Heaven’s band practice,
the song above is called “I’m not Lost at All” and is a regular in their set
list.
Six Feet is a campus band that was started last year by a
group of freshman with the same love of music and need to play that music.
Though the band has changed some of its members this year it still has the same
great songs and a few more surprises for its upcoming shows.
The Band consists of Lead singer- Asher Hill, Bassist- Nick
Potter, Lead Guitarist – Dan Martin, Back up Guitarist- Zeb McCoy, and Drummer/
Backup Vocalist – Greg Plourde.
Though much goofing off does happen in practice they also
get a lot done. While I sat in on their two hour allotted practice I watched
them go through almost a whole set list and still have time to mess around and
come up with a few surprises for their upcoming show.
After practice I talked to Nick about was it was like being
a member of this band, to which he replied, “It often feels like I am
babysitting a loving bunch of crocodiles with ADD, but since they have put up
with me I have come to enjoy there crazy antics and have even started to initiate
them. As soon as the music starts though, that’s what I love about them, our
styles of playing mold together into whatever kind of song we are playing and we
become not five different musicians but five goofballs who create one sound
with all of our styles melding and making it ours.”
After you listen to their music you can’t even deny that
their styles do meld to make some great music. I also asked Nick what was in
the future for the band.
“We are
preparing for our show on December 4th, here at the college. And we
also have a show coming sometime in the next few weeks.”
So there you have it if you would like to see more from this
band you can go out to their show on Thursday and see them live. If you can’t
make it to the show you can also find their music on sound cloud, and find them
on Facebook.
As for me I’ll be at the show on Thursday and hope to see
you there.
